On February 27, 2025, CPI Researcher & Policy Analyst, CJ Valasek, urged the City of San Diego’s “Select Committee on Addressing the Cost of Living” to support tourism workers.

Workers, community organizations, and unions came out in force! The council committee voted in favor of creating an ordinance to raise wages for tourism workers, which will come for a vote at the committee in June!!!
