san diego black worker center project

The Center on Policy Initiatives (CPI) is the proud fiscal sponsor, as well as a member of the Advisory Board, of the San Diego Black Worker Center (SDBWC). The SDBWC Steering Committee chose to house the SDBWC with CPI based on CPI’s long history of advocating for working people. CPI is committed to building power for Black workers in the San Diego region. This work is consistent with our mission of building strong partnerships and strengthening the infrastructure for worker organizations.

Brisa Johnson is the founding director of the San Diego Black Worker Center. Click here to learn more about the Black Worker Center.

"San Diego is my home, my heart and it's time to have honest conversations about building power for Black workers. We are no longer asking for a seat at the table, we are building our own!"

Director, San Diego Black Worker Center
