Azucena Garcia

Azucena Garcia recently joined the Communications Department at the Center on Policy Initiatives.

Born and raised in San Ysidro, CA- Azucena was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as a child, but learned at an early age that such a diagnosis wouldn’t stop her from fulfilling her goals and aspirations. She holds a BA in Political Science and Communications from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).

An advocate for immigrant, low-income communities and people with alternative abilities, she has worked as a communications consultant for clients such as: KPBS, SEIU California and the International Paralympic Committee.
