Hi! My name is Sarah Farouq and I’m a Students for Economic Justice Fellow at the Center on Policy Initiatives. The SEJ program fosters youth development and leadership by hosting trainings for fellows by a wide variety of organizers and local leaders and by exposing them to unique experiences through site placements at nonprofit organizations across San Diego. Joining this program is the first step that I’ve taken to begin my road to battle economic injustice and to develop an intersectional lens for the issues facing our city of San Diego. So far, as a fellow at CPI, I have been learning about political landscape of San Diego and CPI’s role in heading the battle to enforce workers’ rights and helping them gain economic justice. In times where our democracy is at threat, the young and educated activists must be on the frontlines. And this fellowship is one of a kind in San Diego, teaching San Diego youth on how to become activists and supporters for the success of their communities.
Keep the spirit of democracy alive and support me as a future organizer and political activist by donating to this wonderful program
